Feeling Flannel

IMG_1385

I just love a long weekend home– and when it’s filled with good food, you know you have to dress for comfort. When I got ready for Thanksgiving dinner, I knew I needed something comfortable but still fashionable… because I was obviously taking advantage of blog photos with my mom.

Shockingly enough (not really) I’m wearing head-to-toe Old Navy. This flannel is a little festive with the red, which is so perfect as we are approaching the holiday season. The weather was great on Thanksgiving, so I only needed to wear my vest over it! And when you’re eating stuffing and desserts, you have to wear leggings. These are apart of Old Navy’s Activewear line, but with a little bit of leather-looking patches, make them perfect for everyday wear.

Top this off with some brown boots and a brown tote, and you have the perfect outfit to transition from fall to winter! I can’t wait to start incorporating my vests into my wardrobe. Luckily, I haven’t really needed them yet!

Skirt Day

IMG_4196 Ever have a day you feel just. on. point. ? Well that’s how I felt in this outfit. This skirt has been a go-to in my wardrobe this fall (mostly because I refuse to wear pants) and because I’ve found so many different ways to pair it– you may remember it from last fall! Ann Taylor Loft has SO many cute skirt options right now, I think I may need to invest in a few more. I’ve been looking for a plain white blouse for a few weeks, and went to Forever 21 for a inexpensive piece that can be worn a bunch of different ways. I’m thinking of wearing this next with dark jeans and black heels for dinner + drinks. Of course, can’t forget my Old Navy tote that I picked up for my London trip. It’s become my daily work bag! Wining

IMG_1292

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed lately, but wine is IN. Wine sweaters, wine dresses, wine pants, it’s everywhere!

I have been a NY & Company fan for years, so I was very excited when they invited me to check out their new Eva Mendes collection. I was immediately drawn to this dress when I started my shopping. Then, I tried it on and I fell in love! It’s very flattering and super comfortable. Not to mention the faux-suede material is so soft. While I was wandering the store, I also came across this gold statement necklace. I’ve been trying to add to my necklace collection, so I knew I needed to bring this piece home with me. I cannot wait to wear this outfit to work or to drinks with friends this month!

Flower Power

Fall is in full swing and I’m absolutely loving it! I’m trying to take advantage of the warm weather as much as possible. No jeans for me while I can rock bare legs all day everyday! That’s why when I went into NY & Company last week, I headed straight for the dress section of the new Eva Mendes Collection. Blue is my favorite color, so this dress was a no-brainer. I quickly thought about all the ways I could style this dress– brown booties, black short boots, black heels, the possibilities are endless! This dress is definitely going to be a staple over the next few weeks and I can even see myself pairing it with black opaque tights in the winter.

Baker Street

While in London, we had the best weather! There was no sight of rain, which we were so worried about. On the third day of our trip, we started our morning by having breakfast in our hotel and then heading to visit the Sherlock Holmes Museum. The houses in the area were so cute, I had to take advantage of the great scenery. My vest was a staple throughout my whole trip, as it helped give me an extra layer under my jacket, or stand alone when the sun was shining. Somehow it matched with almost everything I brought with me on this trip! I can’t wait to continue pairing it with outfits for the rest of this season.

White After Labor Day

IMG_4164

When the first day of fall rolls around, the no brainer outfit choice is white jeans, right…. ? If you were to tell me I’d break the “no white after Labor Day” rule I would have laughed. For some reason, when I was planning my outfit Tuesday night, I was drawn towards my white jeans, even though I had packed them away for the season.

Paired with my trusty chambray shirt and new favorite shoes, I was easily able to transition my white jeans into fall! I think this is only the beginning of the many ways I’ll incorporate these pants this season.

So Long Fall

How is it December 1st already!? November truly flew by. Although its technically not winter yet, the end of Thanksgiving and beginning of a new month signifies the new season for me. I am happy to report that I successfully completed my Fall Bucket list! I closed out the list on Saturday, when my girlfriends (and some of the boyfriends) and I got together for a Friendsgiving. It was the first time my five best friends and I were together since July! We all cooked Thanksgiving dishes and had yummy treats (including a turkey shaped ice cream cake)! I wanted to dress comfy since I knew there would be a lot of eating involved again, so I wore my comfiest jeans and a flannel shirt.

Now that fall is over, I’ll be working on a winter bucket list! Do you have any suggestions?
