Sweet Snack

During the holiday season, I always find myself surrounded by goodies. That turns into my having a constant sweet tooth, even when I’m just at home. Ever find yourself looking for a late night sweet treat, but don’t want to ruin a full day of healthy eating? Well I’ve found your solution!

Are you a fan of Muddy Buddy/Puppy Chow? Well I started making this nighttime treat and realized its very similar! The ingredients include Life cereal, Powdered Peanut Butter, Powdered Peanut Butter with Chocolate, Hershey’s Unsweetened Cocoa Powder, and Confectioner’s Sugar.

I made the Powdered Peanut Butter as I normally would (1 tbsp original, 1 tbsp chocolate), and then mixed in 1/2 tbsp of the unsweetened cocoa powder and a splash of Splenda to sweeten it up a bit. I then mixed in 1/3 cup of the cereal and made sure its fully coated. Then, I put the mixture into a plastic baggie, put in 1 tbsp of the confectioner’s sugar and shake it until the cereal is fully coated. Ta da!  You have a snack that satisfies your sweet tooth but doesn’t break the healthy bank. This little dessert is only 130 calories! Enjoy 🙂
