Hello hello, Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you had a lovely day yesterday. I spent it with my family in Brooklyn. It was a great day, but I was really missing my sister while she’s still in London. Now I’m ready to get into the Christmas spirit, and count down the days until she’s home!
I’m dropping in to share the CUTEST holiday collection from Kate Spade featuring my favorite, champagne! The collection also includes many glittery favorites, and some NY inspired pieces as well.
Check out my favorites below, and happy shopping!
This Easter was a special day because it was also my sister’s 20th birthday. That morning we woke up, got ourself ready and headed to mass. When we got back, we had antipasto plates made by dad, opened our baskets from the Easter Bunny, and enjoyed the beautiful weather. I think this was the jump start of spring and it makes me incredibly happy!!
What I’m Wearing:
New York & Company coat || New York & Company shirt || Forever 21 jeans (old, similar) || Payless Heels || Ray-Ban sunglasses (similar)
I love St. Patrick’s Day! I am nowhere near Irish, but I think its a fun holiday! You all know how I love to be festive for holidays, and this is no exception. Here are some of my personal traditions for each St. Patty’s Day. Enjoy 🙂
Green bagel || I always try to find a bagel store that sells green bagels, and I have been successful the last few years. It may seem a little gross to look at, but it’s so fun!
Shamrock shaped cookies || My sorority always included shamrocks on a lot of our gifts, so in years past, I’ve made shamrock cookies with a shamrock cookie cutter and green frosting. Can’t forget the shamrock shaped sprinkles!
Of course, cannot forget to dress with a little bit of green.
Hope you have a great St. Patrick’s Day!
Happy New Year!! Sorry for the delay in this post, I’ve been enjoying my time off a littleee too much!
My New Year’s Eve was so much fun and definitely one of the best! As I mentioned on Wednesday, my best friend and her family came over to ring in the new year. The backdrop was a hit, and was so much fun to take pictures with! The night really flew by. With the champagne, all the goodies, and great company, I didn’t want the night to end!
The next day I woke up a bit earlier than necessary (with about 5 hours of sleep) and I laid in my bed and watched the last four episodes of How I Met Your Mother. UGH SO GOOD. Then I slept for another hour and a half before finally getting out of bed at 12 pm! That is how New Year’s Day should be in my opinion. My family and I spent the rest of the day munching on leftovers and re-watching the New Year’s countdown and some movies.
While I don’t have a set list of resolutions, I definitely have a list of goals for 2015. The theme around 2015 is being freer: taking chances, and seeing where they take me. I’m very excited to see how things turn out! Now I am taking advantage of my last few days of my mini “vacation” and relaxing before I go back to work on Monday.
Here are some of my favorite photos from the last few days. Enjoy!
Have you made any resolutions for 2015? Feel free to share them with me in the comments section!
Saturday night, my family and I decided to take advantage of the great weather we’ve been having, and go see the Dyker Heights Christmas lights. The homes in the area are beautifully decorated and its definitely a sight to see. The lights should be up until January 1st if you’re interested in going! The Facebook page has more information about it.
Before the sun went down, I was able to snap some shots of my outfit. I made sure I added layers because we weren’t sure how cold it was going to be. I was also able to use my new C. Wonder bag!
What I’m Wearing::
Charlotte Russe scarf || Ann Taylor Loft chambray || Marshall’s sweater (old) || Call It Spring boots || Old Navy jeans || C. Wonder Pouch (in stores)
We headed into Brooklyn at around 5 o’clock, so it wasn’t too crowded yet and just dark enough to enjoy the lights. It made me feel like Christmas was lasting just a little bit longer! Here are some of my favorite houses:
If you’re in the area, definitely check out the Dyker Heights Christmas lights before its too late! You won’t regret it 🙂
Merry Christmas everyone! I know its a day late, but yesterday was so busy with family fun. We host Christmas Eve and Christmas Day every year, so it gets a little crazy in my house. Wednesday was filled with preparing the house for all of our guests. We ate, drank, and were definitely merry.
This year, my mom, sister, and I decided to get matching pajamas from Old Navy. We were so excited to put them on! Aren’t the reindeer socks adorable?! We got to bed around 2 am, and were hoping to sleep in a bit so we were well-rested for another day of hosting.
Shocker, we didn’t really get to sleep in. But this was okay with me, because I couldn’t wait to give my family their presents! We all stayed in our pjs, opened gifts, and had homemade muffins and mimosas.
Then it was time to quickly get ready and head out for Christmas mass. Once we were back, we finished up preparing the house and waited for my mom’s family to come over. It was another great day!
As we get older, some things change about Christmas, but there are so many things I am still able to cherish. These memories are the things I know I will remember for a lifetime.
Today is going to be a pjs-all-day kind of day, filled with movies and lots of leftovers! How are you spending your day?
Everyone should have at least one ugly Christmas shirt in their closet. While most have sweaters, I have a turtleneck! I picked this up about two years ago right before Christmas, so this was all that was left when I was in pursuit of an ugly sweater. It’s perfect for baking cookies or even going around town looking at Christmas lights.
It may be too late to purchase for this year, but I know Tipsy Elves & Asos have super cute/ugly sweaters! You should definitely check them out for next year!
