As you know, I believe every occasion deserves champagne. That’s why when my best friend came to visit over Labor Day, I knew we had to add some champagne to our weekend.
Atop of the Conrad Hotel in Battery Park City sits Loopy Doopy bar, a super chic location for happy hour or late night drinks. Their claim to fame? Prosecco on tap paired with alcoholic People’s Pops in fun flavor combinations. That night I tried the strawberry lemongrass and Christina had the empire apple.
When I visited this time, I noticed a difference in the awning covering the bar and the additional high tables. I definitely welcomed this change! I think it was the perfect night to visit because it wasn’t too crowded (I think the holiday weekend shooed people out of the city) and we were able to snag a seat to enjoy the beautiful views.
The drinks are a little pricey– $18 for the prosecco + lollipop treat, but definitely a great special occasion spot! I can’t wait to bring my little sister next summer when she’s 21! 🙂
As I mentioned last week, we recently celebrated my sister’s 20th birthday. Since her actual birthday was on Easter Sunday, we knew we had to make the day before an extra special day. I surprised my sister Friday night with some Baked By Melissa cupcakes (have you seen their cupcarons!?!) and a trip to Dry Bar in the city! I had never been before but was so excited for this special occasion to take our first trip. Saturday we got ourselves ready and headed to the city for an afternoon hair appointment. We had dinner reservations later that evening in Little Italy, so our parents and Jo’s bestie were meeting us afterwards.
We were both extremely pleased with how our hair came out! Our stylists were so sweet and made sure Jo’s birthday experience was great. We were offered a complimentary drink, and could chose from wine, champagne, mimosas, coffee or tea. I bet you can guess what I chose 😉
This will definitely not be my last trip to Dry Bar. I’m already thinking of planning my next trip there for my birthday!
Happy Monday! I had such a great weekend. Saturday I headed down to Philly with a few of my besties to watch Villanova Basketball against Georgetown. Nothing is more fun than waking up early on a Saturday morning to tailgate and hang out with friends.
Now, winter isn’t the ideal tailgating weather, so you have to make sure you are set to be outside for a while. Here are some of my winter tailgate necessities!
- I always make sure to wear my parka coat. I sometimes feel like an eskimo wearing it, but boy does it keep me warm. Mine is Nautica from Macy’s a few years ago, but this one is pretty similar!
- This year, I opted to wear a baseball hat, rather than a beanie or headband. It was almost 40 degrees so definitely not as cold as it has been in the past. I wore a Nova hat, but this J.Crew cap is super cute!
- The sun was shiningggg so I couldn’t forget my favorite Ray-Ban sunnies.
- Its so fun to wear team gear, but I also like to pair it with something fashionable. I wore a long sleeve Nova tee and wore a chambray shirt over it. One of my favorites is from Nordstroms a few years ago, but here is a similar one!
- Last but not least, no tailgate is complete without mimosas! If you’re pretending you’re back in college, you can definitely drink like you are… so some Andre it is!
Hopefully this gets you ready for your next tailgate!
Happy New Year!! Sorry for the delay in this post, I’ve been enjoying my time off a littleee too much!
My New Year’s Eve was so much fun and definitely one of the best! As I mentioned on Wednesday, my best friend and her family came over to ring in the new year. The backdrop was a hit, and was so much fun to take pictures with! The night really flew by. With the champagne, all the goodies, and great company, I didn’t want the night to end!
The next day I woke up a bit earlier than necessary (with about 5 hours of sleep) and I laid in my bed and watched the last four episodes of How I Met Your Mother. UGH SO GOOD. Then I slept for another hour and a half before finally getting out of bed at 12 pm! That is how New Year’s Day should be in my opinion. My family and I spent the rest of the day munching on leftovers and re-watching the New Year’s countdown and some movies.
While I don’t have a set list of resolutions, I definitely have a list of goals for 2015. The theme around 2015 is being freer: taking chances, and seeing where they take me. I’m very excited to see how things turn out! Now I am taking advantage of my last few days of my mini “vacation” and relaxing before I go back to work on Monday.
Here are some of my favorite photos from the last few days. Enjoy!
Have you made any resolutions for 2015? Feel free to share them with me in the comments section!
On Wednesday I had the pleasure of visiting 73 Spring Shop with my friend Marie of The Preppy MAG. For those of you unaware, 73 Spring Shop is a pop-up shop of some of the best online stores. Designers include Design Darling, Inslee By Design, Loren Hope, Persifor, Society Social, & Three Jane. The store was right in SoHo so just a quick walk from the office. Although it was snowing, Marie and I made it our mission to visit this week!
I wanted to scoop up so many things in that store. There were darling earrings, beautiful paintings, cute desk accessories and even living room furnishings. I left with a cute little koozy that read “Let’s Dance. Xoxo Tipsy”. I thought it was so me!
It was also great to meet so many of these talented ladies that I read about online. Finally adding a face to their brands! I was able to chat with Roxy of Society Social and Katie of Three Jane. They were such sweethearts!
Today is the last day 73 Spring Shop will be open! Head in from 10 am to 6 pm. Unfortunately after that they will be closed, but luckily you can check out all of their online stores! Hopefully they’ll pop up again soon 😉
I’m so glad we were able to stop by!
Hello! Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry I’ve been MIA for almost two weeks! It really has been crazy. Let me recap on what I’ve been up to:
- I’ve started watching How I Met Your Mother during my commute. It is SUCH A GOOD SHOW!! I don’t know how its taken me so long to watch it. This is the time when I would normal write blog posts, so I think I’m going to have to find a new time for that.
- Last weekend I went back to Villanova again, this time to volunteer at the Special Olympics Pennsylvania Fall Festival, hosted on campus every year. I was a part of the student-run committee during my time at school, and I couldn’t miss it. It was so nice to see so many of my friends that I didn’t get to see during homecoming, and watch so much competition!
- I’ve also been enjoying some happy hours with coworkers and friends during the week! I’ve been to a few places in Tribeca and the NYU area, all which have been super fun!
With the holidays coming up, I will try my best to keep up with my blog. Hopefully I’ll be able to fill you in on some fun events during the holiday season!
Do you have any fun plans coming up?
If you follow me on Instagram, you definitely saw that I went back to my college for Homecoming last weekend. It was such an AMAZING weekend!! I got to see soooo many of my friends that I hadn’t seen in so long. I took a half day from work on Friday, and drove down to meet up with two of my girlfriends, Maddy and Jamie, I was staying at a hotel with. I had to kill some time before they got down so I walked around campus for a bit and grabbed myself dinner from Cosi (their Signature salad is sooooo good). Once we were ready to go, we headed to the local bars by school. Boy was it good to be back. We had so much fun dancing the night away!
On Saturday, we woke up and got ready for brunch at White Dog Cafe in Wayne. We met up with Maddy’s boyfriend and two of his friends for a great brunch to get us ready for our day! After brunch, we headed to campus to tailgate for the football game. The tailgate was probably the best part of my whole weekend. There were so many people that I knew from school that had graduated or were still in school, all in one place. I just walked around the parking lot for hours to find as many people as I could! After the tailgate, us girls headed to the game. I think I’ve only been to about 3 football games in the 4 years I was at school. Oops! After the game we went to Flemings Steakhouse for their special bar menu. The food was sooo good, and was perfect to get us ready for another night out!
On Sunday, we packed our things and headed to one last meal in the area. We went to DuJour for another great brunch! After brunch, we walked around campus and took a trip to the bookstore. Afterwards, I visited my friends at their Sunday dance rehearsal and then caught up with my sorority Little and Little Little before heading home. I was very sad to leave, but have so many memories from the weekend to keep me happy for awhile!
Thanks for reading about my great weekend!
