Keepin’ Me Warm

Hello hello! How is it only Thursday!? It’s felt like such a long week. Not only has it been busy at work, but I’ve had plans and events almost every night! Which is all fun don’t get me wrong 😉 I just wish it wasn’t as cold.

Let’s go back to last Sunday please, where it was 40 degrees and beautifully sunny. That’s when these pictures were taken; I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get outside! I’ve been loving this turtle neck & faux fur vest combo and have found myself wearing it to work a couple of times this winter. It’s a go-to when I know it’s going to be extra cold that day. It also easily transitions for after-work drinks. Just add some lipstick and throw on a pair of booties! The turtleneck is warm, but not too suffocating and the vest adds that something extra.

I spoke about this vest back in December when I first received it, but it was such a good investment, and so so comfy! I definitely recommend checking out Chichwish to get your own. At first I was a little nervous about ordering online, but it worked out great!

Not only was I so happy to be outside without a coat, but it was also so much fun to shoot with my mom! She’s my mother and my best friend, and now my photographer too (hehehe). Love ya mom!

 What I’m Wearing:

Chichwish vest || Old Navy turtleneck || Old Navy jeans || Kenneth Cole Reaction purse || Michael Kors watch || Essie nail polish in Sugar Daddy

Hope you all have a great rest of the week!

PS: I may or may not have purchased two new pairs of these jeans over the weekend… (yup, definitely did)

Months ago, in one of my earlier blog posts I talked about how I’m a firm believer in everything happening for a reason. Well months later, here I am, still a supporter of that statement.

Today is one month that I was given the news of my full time position at work. It’s been such an amazing month and I still have pinch me moments when I realize I’m working in my dream job. I love that I can wake up every morning and look forward to getting to work. I’ve changed so much over the last six months since I began working in the city. I feel myself growing up, because I want to and because I’m forced to. You don’t realize what you’re capable of until you’re presented with a challenge.

So now I challenge you: do something that you wouldn’t expect yourself to do. Step outside of your comfort zone. I try that every day now and makes life so exciting. See what you can do!

I hope you all have an amazing week!

How adorable is this trench coat!? I saw it a few weeks ago on Old Navy’s website and have been thinking about it ever since. I think its the perfect length and material for nice weather in the city, and makes me want spring to come even sooner!! With the snow yesterday and some more snow in the forecast this week, I don’t see that happening any time soon. I think this will have to be one of my early purchases to get me ready for spring!

Happy belated Valentine’s Day! I’ve always been the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day, I think because my parents always managed to make it an extra day special for my sister and I. But just for the record: I’m definitely ready for a boyfriend to be my Valentine haha (sorry mom and dad!).

I started my morning with a Zumba class at my gym. I absolutely love Zumba classes– I think that’s because of the mix of dance and Latin music (hellloooo lots of Pitbull!). The class definitely set my mood for the day, so I’m so glad I went.

I came back from class to an awesome brunch of chocolate chip muffins, banana pecan pancakes, fruit and mimosas. My parents are the absolute cutest and tried to make my day as great as possible.

The rest of my day was spent catching up on my TV shows, cleaning up some space on my laptop (I took some tips from Carly), and just lounging around. Later on we ordered some Chinese food for dinner and took a trip to Target. Somehow I only left there with 2 magazines. I definitely had a few more things in my cart but managed to put them back… go me! I ended my night with watching The Best of Me, that I rented on iTunes. Gotta love a good Nicholas Sparks story!

Hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day!

Tailgate Necessities

Happy Monday! I had such a great weekend. Saturday I headed down to Philly with a few of my besties to watch Villanova Basketball against Georgetown. Nothing is more fun than waking up early on a Saturday morning to tailgate and hang out with friends.

Now, winter isn’t the ideal tailgating weather, so you have to make sure you are set to be outside for a while. Here are some of my winter tailgate necessities!

  • I always make sure to wear my parka coat. I sometimes feel like an eskimo wearing it, but boy does it keep me warm. Mine is Nautica from Macy’s a few years ago, but this one is pretty similar!
  • This year, I opted to wear a baseball hat, rather than a beanie or headband. It was almost 40 degrees so definitely not as cold as it has been in the past. I wore a Nova hat, but this J.Crew cap is super cute!
  • The sun was shiningggg so I couldn’t forget my favorite Ray-Ban sunnies.
  • Its so fun to wear team gear, but I also like to pair it with something fashionable. I wore a long sleeve Nova tee and wore a chambray shirt over it. One of my favorites is from Nordstroms a few years ago, but here is a similar one!
  • Last but not least, no tailgate is complete without mimosas! If you’re pretending you’re back in college, you can definitely drink like you are… so some Andre it is!

Hopefully this gets you ready for your next tailgate!

Cheers to Tuesday! Here is the outfit I wore out to dinner with one of my besties Gianna on Friday night. We went to Fushimi, a Japanese restaurant on Staten Island. It was so nice to eat and catch up at one of my favorite restaurants.

I wore one of my favorite Tobi sweaters (with a super cool plunge back), with blue jeans and black booties. I also used my new Kate Spade purse that I got for Christmas. Its the perfect size and even comes with convenient card slots!

I was also wearing my new Kate Spade necklace that says “cheers”. Of course I ordered a champagne cocktail… what else would I cheers with?!

What I’m Wearing:

Tobi sweater (old, similar here, here, and here) ||Old Navy jeans || DSW booties || Kate Spade purse (old, similar)
