‘Tis the Season

Happy Black Friday! Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgivings! Mine was a great day, spent with my family and cousins in Brooklyn. I decided to stay comfy yesterday, in a light sweater and leggings — a great choice for eating lots and lots of good food!

I’m so happy I have today off. I plan on writing blog posts, doing some online shopping, decorating the house, and watching cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies. Oh, and I definitely want to squeeze a run in there somewhere to burn off some of that pie and stuffing from yesterday.

I love getting gifts for my friends and family. All year long, whenever I am out and see something a friend would love I can’t help but want to buy it. That’s why I especially love the Christmas season. I’ve already made some purchases last night and started filling online shopping bags this morning. I’m hoping I won’t have to head to the mall much and get to spend all my time with family and friends. ‘Tis the season!

What are you looking forward to this holiday season? Any shopping tips for me?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! Not only is today a day to enjoy delicious food, but it’s also a day to realize everything we have to be grateful for.

2014 was a big year for me. Most importantly, I graduated from college and moved home to start working at an amazing company. Every day I realize how lucky I am to be working in my dream job with the best co-workers.

I’ve also realized all of the people that are in my life that I have to be thankful for. We may not talk or see each other every day or even every month for that matter, but I can’t imagine my life without them. Of course I can’t leave out my family, who always help to make my dreams become a reality and believe in me no matter what.

Hope you are all enjoying this day!

Sunshine All Around

As I mentioned the other day, I went to brunch on Sunday at Pasticceria Bruno on Staten Island with my friend Gianna. It was a beautiful day out, so I was able to pull out this fall ensemble (I definitely would not be able to get away with this outfit today). I paired my favorite camel blazer and brown booties and decided to dress up my outfit with a nice statement necklace. I hadn’t seen my friend Gianna since September, so we had a lot to catch up on. We spent around two hours just chit chatting over eggs, pastries, and of course mimosas. It was the perfect way to spend my Sunday afternoon!

Weekend Catch Up

Happy Monday! What a whirl-wind of a weekend I had. I guess you can say my weekend technically started on Thursday. My work friends and I went for dinner and drinks after work, and I stayed at my friend’s apartment in the city afterwards. It was SO nice not having to worry about commuting from home Friday morning. Friday after work I met up with my sorority Big Sister at her apartment in the city and we went for dinner nearby. We hadn’t seen each other since Labor Day so it was sooo nice getting to hang out. We went out that night to a bar near her house where they had the best music!! They played all the hits from the 60s to present. My feet were killing me the next day from all the dancing we did! On Saturday I recovered from my late night and headed to my sister’s school dance showcase. I was so proud of her performance! On Sunday I slept in and then headed to brunch with my good friend Gianna. It was great catching up with her. I will be sharing some pictures of my outfit this week!

My Big and I

So proud of my sister!

This week I only have to go into work for two and a half days, so I am very excited! I am looking forward to a short week, and ending it with seeing lots of family and friends I haven’t seen in so long. Hope you all have a great week!

Classy and Comfy

As you saw on Monday’s post, I attended brunch in the city last weekend with my friend Kim! It was held in a club in the Meatpacking District, and it was tons of fun! I loved the outfit I ended up wearing, and wanted to share some pictures with you all. Happy Friday!!

My Christmas List

There are only 5 Fridays until Christmas… SAY WHAT!? Thanksgiving is next Thursday for goodness sakes! Man, does time fly.

So I’ve been asking my parents and sister what they wanted for Christmas, so I could get shopping early. Then they turned the tables and asked what I wanted! Funny enough, I don’t have much on my list right now. I buy clothes pretty regularly so there’s nothing I really want on that front, and I’m set with my phone and iPad in the new gadget area. So I’ve put together a list of some things I would really like, although some are definitely out of the question. A girl can dream though, right!?

Here’s my list so far:

1. || I have been a Jonas Brothers fan as long as I can remember, and Nick was always my favorite. Man, did I choose wisely back when I was 15.

2. || I’ve always wanted to live in New York City, and now that I work I want to move there even more. I’m trying to save up for a bit since I am lucky enough that I can still live with my parents. But Santa, if you have an extra apartment to spare, can you hook a girl up?

Okay, those two are TOTALLY unrealistic. So here’s my real Christmas list:

3. || I’ve been in the market for a new eyeshadow palette and have heard a lot of great things about the Urban Decay Naked Palette! I looked at the three different styles and I think I liked Naked 2 the best.

4. || This girl always needs gloves, especially on freezing mornings while waiting for the bus. I can’t compromise texting and still want to look nice, so these would be perfect!

5. || I really want to get more and more into blogging, and I’m hoping to make more of it in 2015. This notebook has been on my wish list for a while, so I’m hoping to get it for Christmas!

6. || Last Christmas I got this scarf in black and it is soooo comfy. It really does a great job of keeping me warm, so I think it’ll be great to invest in another color.

7. || Last but not least, I’ve been also wanting a new camera. I’ve always loved Canon cameras and my last one was purchased probably around my senior year of high school. I don’t use it as much anymore, but when I want to I always have issues with my batteries dying. Before I can invest in a DLSR camera, I thought getting a new digital camera to take nicer blog pictures would be nice! (and at $99 this is very reasonable)

What’s on your Christmas list? Do you have any ideas for me to add? Let me know!

PS: How do you like my image!? I made it using the tutorial by Dorothy of Prep In Your Step! It was super helpful!

Brunch Time

If you know me, then you know how much I love brunch. An occasion to get dressed up on the weekend, drink some mimosas and catch up with good friends? That’s my kind of meal! A few weeks ago, my friend Kim invited me to attend a brunch event in Manhattan that benefits JDRF. The event was yesterday, and it was such a good time! It was held at Opus 51, a club in the Meatpacking District. One of the best parts about the brunch was the dancing! You can bet that Kim and I were excited, as we are friends from our dancing school days!

Kim and I were having such a hard time deciding what to wear, because it was a later time during the day (2-5 pm) and we’re at that crossing point of fall but with winter weather. After some advice from friends, I went with my leather skirt and a comfy sweatshirt! I decided to dress it up with a statement necklace. Everyone was wearing different things, but I felt very comfortable in the outfit I picked. I’ll be sharing more pictures of my outfit on Friday, but for now, here are some pictures from the event!

Thanks Kim, for inviting me to this fun event!
